Back To School

One of the worst parts of summer is having to say goodbye to it. This summer has been one of the best these past few years. But unfortunately school is here and the text books are slowly coming back into my life. No worries though, with the new school year comes loads of new clothes! It's actually a necessity to revamp your style as much as you can when you're in fashion school. Bye bye slummy work shirts and hello misfit tanks and high waisted jeans!! I decided I would wear something that really fit my style. Yes I like being girly with dresses and skirts sometimes but honestly I'm more of a studs and spikes kinda chic with an absurd amount of black.

What's In My Summer Bag

I've always been interested in what wonders are buried away in a woman's purse. My mom was always the one to have the Mary Poppin's bag filled to the top with literally everything you can imagine - kind of a necessary thing when you have four kids running around. But I tend to be the kind to carry as little with me as possible, while still having enough in my bag to entertain me say - when the train stops in the tunnel for 15 mins. One thing I've noticed while making this post is that I tend to carry an obscene amount of lip products on me... no idea why this is, but hey that's just life.

Long Beach Island

Every summer my family rents a house in Long Beach, NJ. It's a great place to get away and spend some quality time with the family. Bay Village is so cute, filled with yummy bakeries, adorable shops, and their very own amusement park - water park and arcade included. This year I went with my siblings, my mom, two family friends, my uncle, and his partner. Although it was a short weekend trip for me it was filled with a lot of firsts and a lot of fun... Like - First turkey burger, first clam chowder, first elephant ear, late night bingo games, smore's, apples to apples, and getting to watch a pod of dolphins play in the ocean.

Lakeside

Harley and I decided to go take a little trip upstate to visit our lovely roommate Amanda with our old friend Carly. Harley, being the little city dog that he is, had no idea what he was getting himself into, but boy did he love it! - He even learned how to swim!! - It was so great to see Amanda and her family. They live literally on the lake so we got to lay out and play around in the water. It was such a perfect trip - good friends, good wine, good food, good weather - doesn't get much better than that!

New Summer Pieces

Some purchases I made earlier this summer from Topshop. I've been obsessing over these earrings that look like you have gages but instead they are just normal earrings. It's the perfect way to wear a style without having to commit to it. 

I love the bracelet too. It's a great mix of boho chic with an edge. It's really exotic looking and makes such a statement to any outfit. I'm all about statement jewelry. 

Bellport Getaway

One of my favorite places to hide out from the gruesome New York City summer heat is this magical little town called Bellport. With a town about the size of two NYC avenue blocks you find that there isn't much to do other than to relax and enjoy the beautiful weather by the poolside or rummaging some old vintage markets, but honestly who wouldn't love to do that. The hustle and bustle of NYC can get pretty tiring, sometimes you just need a break. 

My boyfriend's family has a wonderful little house not too far from the bay that just screams comfort and style. I gotta say his family really knows how to decorate a house - what would you expect from a family so involved in fashion. This has become the perfect little getaway for me and my boyfriend - I have truly fallen in love.
