Just When I thought Wine Couldn't Get Any Better

So if you know me at all, you know that wine is pretty much my one true guilty pleasure. So what do you think my reaction was when I came across this little article from The Daily Beast about a lovely lady named Mary Jane and her new relationship with my dear old friend Mr. Wine.

Birchbox April 2012

So I actually lost the little post-card that came with the information on all the products in the box so I'm gonna set this up a little differently this month and provide links to the products on the Birchbox site so you can get a better idea as to what they are. I'm also gonna give a quick review on the products that I've used so far. 

I wasn't that impressed with this months box but I did adore the fact that they created a box made of natural wonders.

  

1. tarte LipSurgence lip tint in Joy 

        This was my favorite product in the box. It's the perfect orange/coral lip color which is totally in trend this season. The lip tint goes on glossy and smooth and dries to a rich yet sheer color that is build-able and very long lasting. It also has a great minty taste to it. 

2. MicrodermaMitt Body Mitt

        I have yet to use this product but you basically wear it as a mitt and use it as a loofa 

3. Wonderstruck Taylor Swift Perfume 

         I really disliked this perfume. I thought it was way to sweet almost like candy grapes and it is just not appealing for someone my age. It reminded me of a perfume a little girl would wear. 

4. Marula The Leakey Collection Omega Rich Pure Marula Oil

         I've used this product only a few times, sometimes before bed and sometimes first thing in the morning. It's a nice oil that leaves the face feeling really moisturized and hydrated and gives a nice glow, but it's nothing special to me. 

5. Yu-Be Moisturizing Skin Cream 

        I like this product. A little goes a long way and it smells good, almost like tiger balm. I use this mainly for my cuticle area to help hydrate the dryness I've been getting there lately from work. You can even use it on your lips and pretty much anywhere on the body thats suffering from dryness. It's even good for hard heels, eczema, and sunburns, or so it says.

Google Goes High-Tech With... Glasses?

Too cool or too much?? Google launched a preview video from Project Glass showing how technology can truly work for us with these insane new glasses. There's just no need for paper these days, and soon enough there will be no need for smart phones. That's right we're moving on up to smart glasses!!!

My opinion: This is TOO COOL!

Spring In My Step

So I decided I would kick my wardrobe into spring, finally. And thought I would try a new hairstyle... I don't think I can really rock this high bun style... but whatever, ya win some ya lose some. Anyway I love this outfit it makes me feel so girly and really brightens up my mood. I'm pretty much always in something black and I promised myself I would try out more colors. I've had this dress foreeevverrr and every time I've worn it, the limited times it's been, I've just adored it. Idk why I don't wear it more often.

Aquamarine

In my March Birchbox I was pleasantly surprised to find this gorgeous Aquamarine nail polish by Color Club. I threw it on right away and fell in love. I've been getting so many compliments on this color its crazy. I'm really getting into the teals, and aquamarines this month. I can't seem to get enough.

Skull Me Crazy

Loving the new pieces I picked up recently. To add to my skull collection I got this blouse from Necessary Clothing, one of those cheap little trend stores in SoHo... I always find great stuff here - not the best quality of course. I've been obsessing over this new navy purse I picked up at my schools Style Shop. The red fabric interior is there perfect pop of color.

Pixi Haul

I love finding great deals online and one of my favorite places to look is Hautelook. They always have great deals especially on makeup. A few weeks ago they had a sale on Pixi cosmetics, a company that I've seen around mostly in Urbanoutfitters, but a brand I have yet to try. So I figured what the heck all the stuff is nearly 75% off, how could I resist?! I purchased 5 lovely products that I have now committed to my everyday routine. My favorite thing about Pixi products is that they truly enhance your natural beauty. The makeup is light and sheer and sets on the skin looking as if it was your own. I love it!

I use the line relax serum every morning before I apply my moisturizer. It helps cool the face and prep it for all day wear.

I find that using the lip & line primer helps keep my lipstick staying on so much longer and keeps my bright colors from bleeding onto my skin. This is always in my purse now. 

Although very sheer this product is a great base to put on after primer and before foundation to help give that extra glow. Sometimes I find that depending on the foundation I put on afterwards and can give my face an orange glow which I don't really like. This is certainly a product I could live without. 

I love this foundation. It leaves such a great finish that leaves your face feeling moisturized without looking oily. It also doesn't leave a cakey feeling to your face because it is so light weight. This is a light to medium coverage foundation but it is incredibly build-able. 

This is such a great powder. I use this as a highlighter to brighten up my cheeks, the bridge of my nose and wherever else I feel like putting so radiance to my face. There are no chunky glitters instead it leaves a very soft look on the face. It has 3 colors that are displayed, a rosy pink, a sort of light copper and a very light musty green so you can decide which colors to combine or swirl your brush for a mix of all.

If you know me at all than you know that I am utterly obsessed with anything that consists of skulls. I don't know when or how this obsession started but its a bug I can't seem to shake, nor do I want to. I purchased these lovely pieces not too long ago and have been wearing non-stop ever since!

The necklace I picked up on Hautelook during the Skova Design sale. I've never actually heard of Skova prior to this purchase but I freakin LOVE this necklace. 

The bracelet I picked up in the west village at Yamak. This is one of those stores that I've walked by so many times and have looked into the window and loved what I saw but for some reason never walked in. But as soon as I saw the sale sign I just HAD to take a look around. I instantly fell in love with this bracelet so I knew I had to take it home.
