Sets On Sets

There is nothing I love more than some good Sephora gift sets. I just find them to be the best bang for your buck and its a great way to try out some products without having to commit to the full price and full size item. This time around I gotta say Sephora has truly outdone themselves. I got my hands on these lovely sets, the Josie Maran Argan Skin & Hair Bestsellers, and Sephora's Draw The Line Eyeliner Sampler. These samplers were just too good to resist.

I had purchased a .05oz Argan oil a few weeks earlier for full price, but silly old me spilled half the bottle on my vanity...cute. So in an attempt to repurchase this item I came across the whole set! The Josie Maran Argan oil, which retails Sephora for $14.00 is included in this $39 kit including Argan Cleansing Oil, Argan Daily Moisturizer, Argan Balm, Whipped Argan Oil Body Butter, and Argan Oil Hair Serum.

Sephora's Draw The Line sampler kit is also too good to be true. My everyday eyeliner already consists of Sephora's Collection Retractable Waterproof Eyeliner which retails for $12.00 and Urban Decay's 24/7 Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner which retails for $19.00. So I pretty much spend $31 for two liners about twice a year. But HEY! Looky here! for $28 I for both my favorite eyeliners full sized and a chance to try out samples of Kat Von D's Tattoo Liner , MAKE UP FOREVER's aqua eyes waterproof liner , Smashbox Jet Set Waterproof Liner, and Buxom's Insider Eyeliner. (Check out Sephora.com ^^ for the color names of the liners)

I've been using both of these sets nearly everyday since purchasing them about a month ago and have loved them entirely.  I highly recommend picking these two sets up as a little holiday treat. Trust me your skin will thank you for all the extra hydration during this chilly season, and your eyes will look perfectly lined and winged. You really can't go wrong.

21

Well this post is long over due but horray I'm finally 21!!!!!!! I had a great day with my family and boyfriend! I started off the day with my mom and uncle celebrating over some lunch and drinks. Then went out to Omen for dinner with Joe. After dinner Joe's parent's took me completely by surprise with red velvet cupcakes (my fav!) and a GORGEOUS peplum dress from Topshop. Overall the day was amazing and I wouldn't have wanted to spend it any other way. Thank you guys all for the birthday wishes and amazing presents!

Latest Pick Ups

So as pretty much all of you know, I have an un-healthy relationship with Sephora. I always seem to find something that I desperately need. At my latest Sephora run I managed to strike gold and by some pretty amazing things.

Benefit's They're Real Mascara - OH. MY. GOD. You know how people rave and rave about a product but you somehow refuse to hop on the band wagon. K well, I hopped, in fact I leapt right in. This mascara is BY FAR the best product to have ever coat my lashes. And the true test was to see if anyone would ask about my lashes while wearing it. It happened, "are you're lashes real?" Why Yes! Yes they are!

Pink Sugar Hair Perfume - I first picked this sucker up during my freshman year of college from Urban Outfitters, and when I ran out I found it impossible to find again. And finally I spot this lovely pink bottle hanging out on the perfume shelf at Sephora. It was so clearly meant to be. This stuff makes my hair smell OH SO DELICIOUS!!!

Josie Maran Argan Oil - it's been a while since I've used this stuff. I got it at as sample a few years ago but never really thought to pick it up. Finally I decided that with the cold weather slowly creeping in, my face was going to need some extra hydration. I love this as a daily moisturizer - too bad I accidentally spilled half of it on my vanity.... joy.

Smashbox Complexion Try It Kit - I'm a huge sucker for sampler kits. I hate spending a lot of money on one product and hating it, so these little kits are a great way to sample a lot of things for a low price. I've been looking for some new foundations and concealers now that my skin tone - aka my lovely summer glow- is now withering away. This kit is great however I found that the powder was too dark. I'll save it for my winter break tan :-p. But aside from that, my face has been looking virtually flawless with this HD kit.

Last but not least - my everyday necessity, Urban Decay's 24 Hour Liquid Eyeline in Perversion. This is the only eyeliner that has been able to withstand my constantly tearing eyes. I always found that liquid eyeliners would mix terribly with my tears and would end up smudging the wing that I had worked so hard on. But this stuff can handle it pretty well. The thin brush makes it incredibly easy to thin up your eyeliner or make it nice and thick.

September Birchbox

This Birchbox was pretty simple but had a lot of useful items.

The first thing that caught my eye was the bright blue nail polish - Insta-this - by color club. I immediately fell in love with the color. It's such a perfect true blue. The one thing I didn't like about it was that it gave my nails a horrible yellow stain when I took the polish off. I recommend putting a base coat with this polish to help keep it from staining.

The Jouer tinted moisturizer in matte nude was a bit of a love hate relationship for me. I loved the last tinted moisturizer from Jouer I recieved a few months ago, and was hoping I would have the same reaction to this one. But unfortunately the color was too light for me and the matte finish is not something I really like in tinted moisturizers like this. However I found a way to use it as a nice subtle highlight base.

The Boscia night serum is pretty much the item I used the most this month. It's such a great formula and leaves my skin feeling really hydrated without feeling oily. It's great for my travel makeup bag because its smaller than my normal night moisturizer and easy to bring around with me.

Not much can be said about the elastic band - it ties my hair back and looks... nice? Lol. And the tea was delicious to put it simply.

I also got a discount for madewell clothing. I've never actually shopped there before but we shall see, I still have a few weeks before it expires.
There was also a little magazine that had some cute fashion looks for the fall.

Overall this box was pretty ok - I didn't love it and I didn't hate it. Can't wait for October's box though!

Fall Is In The Air

I gotta say, fall is by far my favorite time of the year. When it comes to fashion I find that the best looks make their way out onto the city streets. To start off my fall season I took some of my favorite throwback pieces and put together a comfy, yet polished look for work.

Margarita-ville

As a very early birthday gift from my dad I was given this amazing little machine - The Magic Bullet. Now I'm sure you've seen these puppies all over the infomercials and stores but this... this is by far the most amazing contraption that has ever ventured into my kitchen.

So of course to celebrate, what do my roommate and I do - make margaritas!!!  Us along with an old roommate of ours created a night out of frozen strawberry margaritas, and frozen cake fondue. Yeah I said frozen cake fondue. But as I'm typing this I realize that I didn't even take pictures of that for you guys... I really do need to stop being so forgetful!!

Anywho - here are the easy steps to making a low cal delicious margarita.

Ingredients : Jose Cuervo Tequila | Jose Cuervo Margarita Mix (we used a low cal one but you can pick any flavor) | frozen strawberries (or any frozen fruit of your choice) | ice | some fun margarita cups | the magic bullet (or any blender you have... which if it isn't a bullet you should really get to changing that |
Step 1: Pour 1 part margarita mix, 1/3 part ice, and 2/3 part strawberries into the blending cup.

Step 2: Mix in 1 shot of tequila.
This will make about 2 servings. Add more tequila in if you like strong margaritas - we just like ours fruity :-p
Step 3: BLENNDDDDDD!!!!
Step 4: Pour into a fun margarita cup and garnish with a strawberry

Enjoy!
